CompTIA’s Network+ exam N10-007 soon to retire

The Network+ N10-007 exam will retire on June 30, 2022 and after that date it will no longer be available for candidates to take.

Due to certification policies, CompTIA must release updated exams to keep up with new technologies and retire any prior exams. In September 2021 CompTIA released the updated Network+ N10-008 certification exam. To give candidates that have been preparing for the Network+ exam prior to the new release, CompTIA does not immediately remove the option of taking the Network+ N10-007 exam. Instead, candidates are allowed a temporary grace period until a specific date to take the N10-007 exam. The grace period is usually about 6 months in length and during that time candidates can take either the previous exam or the updated exam. It is vital for anybody preparing for the Network+ N10-007 exam to save the date and make the necessary accommodation to take the exam before it is unavailable.

CompTIA is one of the most recognized certification authorities in the IT industry and their Network+ certificate is very popular with both newcomers and professionals alike. The Network+ certification proves candidates who have successfully earned the certification have familiarity with network ports and protocols associated with the OSI layers and network devices. The Network+ certified professional will also possess the skills needed to understand the concepts of routing, switching, IP addressing and subnetting and apply them to the construction and maintenance of functioning networks.
